Colegio Militar Decroly, located in Sincelejo (Sucre), was operated until 1997, as Gimnasio Decroly, by Virginia Gómez de Álvarez and Antonio Álvarez Agudelo.
Colegio Militar Decroly was approved by Resolution No. 23 issued on 6 May 1997 by the Departmental Secretariate of Education and Resolution No. 791 issued on 25 February 1998 by the Ministry of National Defense. Classes started on 1 February 1998.

The school is named for the Belgian pedagogue and psychologist Ovide Decroly (1871-1932)

Colegio Militar General Agustin Codazzi

Colegio Militar General Agustin Codazzi is located in borough Chapinero, Palmira (Valle del Cauca Department). Agustin Codazzi (1793-1859), of Italian origin, fought in Bolivar's army. Made Colonel by the Venezuelan government, he published a famous Atlas of the Venezuelan Provinces and subsequently moved to Colombia.

Colegio Militar General Gustavo Matamoros D'Costa is located in Cúcuta (Norte del Santander Department). The school is named for General Gustavo Matamoros D'Costa (1928-1984), Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Colombia and Minister of Defense (1984).

The flag of Colegio Militar General Gustavo Matamoros D'Costa, reflecting the school's thought and philosophy, is composed of three horizontal stripes, arranged in equal proportions, from top to bottom, yellow, blue and green.

Yellow represents the intellectual and behavioral resources taught to the students by the school to educate new men for a better Colombia. Blue represents the oceans and rivers and the sky, which are protected and watched by the armed forces (Army and Air Force); the students should be aware of the adequate use and preservation of these resources, which are part of our natural environment. Green represents military education, offered to the students by the school with the support of our glorious national army in three grades (9th, 10th and 11th); it also represents hope placed by Colombia into the future generations ("to educate new men for a better Colombia").

Colegio Militar General Pedro Nel Ospina

"Colegio Militar 'General Pedro Nel Ospina'" was founded on 24 August 1998 in Medellín by the local section of ACORE, an association of retired members of the Colombian armed forces. Classes started on 25 January 1999 and the institute was recognized by the Ministry of National Education on 10 December 1998 (Decree No. 2180) and 22 January 2001 (Decree No. 0077).

The institute is named after General Pedro Nel Ospina (1858-1937), Governor of Antioquia (1918-1920) and President of the Republic of Colombia (1922-1926). During his tenure, Colombia was awarded 25 millions USD by the USA to compensate for the loss of Panamá. Ospina was the first President in the world to use an airplane for an official travel.

Colegio Militar Inocencio Chino

Colegio Militar Inocencio Chino was established on 29 November 1969 in Sogamoso (Boyacá Department) by Colonel Guillermo Plaza Olarte. The school is named for Sergent Inocencio Chino, who died in Tibasosa in the aftermath of the battle of Vargas Swamp (25 July 1819), a decisive step to the independence of New Granada.

Colegio Militar José María Córdoba

Colegio Militar José María Córdoba, located in Medellín (Antioquia). is named for José María Córdova / Córdoba (1799-1829), a hero of the wars of independence. On 12 February 1820, he defeated the Royal troops in Chorros Blancos, ending the Spanish rule over Antioquia. He participated to the battle of Pichincha in 1822 and to the battle of Ayacucho in 1824; his decisive contribution to the victory earned him the nickname of "Hero of Ayacucho". Back to Antioquia, he organized an uprising against Bolívar's dictatorship, being eventually killed in El Santuario.

The flag of Colegio Militar José María Córdoba is horizontally divided red-green with the school's emblem in the center.

The coat of arms is designed following the rules of heraldry, in proportions 6:5. If features in the center the Colombian flag superimposed by a book, for the school's academic component, and a crossed gun and sword, for the school's military component.

Liceo Social Compartir was founded in Soacha (Department of Cundinamarca) on 3 December 1991 (Decree No. 2752) by Walter A. Medina Roldan. On 24 December 2007 (Decree No. 5871), the Ministry of National Defense granted to the institute the status of pre-military school, reflected in the amended name of Colegio Militar Liceo Social Compartir.
The flag of Colegio Militar Liceo Social Compartir, as shown on photos available on the institute's website, is divided white-black by the descending diagonal, with the institute's badge in the middle.
The badge of Colegio Militar Liceo Social Compartir is made of a shield bordered in white and divided red-black by a white descending diagonal stripe. The red part is charged with a fortress, while the black part is charged with a white inkwell and quill and a white open book with a red binding. The shield is surmounted by a plume in the national colors. A white scroll with the institute's motto "VERDAD Y SABIDURIA" (Truth and Knowledge) is placed below the shield. The whole is placed on a white disk bordered by a black ring charged with the white lettering "COLEGIO MILITAR" (top) / "LICEO SOCIAL COMPARTIR" (bottom), separated by two yellow stars.

The circular shape of the shield represents God, who has his center in all parts, representing unity and absolute perfection.
The circle is a symbol of the sky in relation to the earth and of the spiritual in relation to the material.

Golden yellow is a symbol of nobleness, splendor, prosperity, magnanimity, constancy, wealth, power and light.
Orange is a symbol of tenacity and resistance. It represents enthusiasm, felicity, attraction, creativity, determination, success and stimulus.
Black is a symbol of power, elegance, formality, authority and force.

The sword recalls that the cadets, when graduated, are awarded a replica of the sword of Simon Bólivar, as an example of balance, justice and peace.

The two signal flags, as the emblem of Communications, are united by a burning torch, symbolizing the source of knowledge and wisdom.

The crossed cannons are the emblem of Artillery.

Colegio Militar Simon Bólivar

"Colegio Militar Simon Bólivar was founded in January 1977 in Bogotá by Colonel Camilo Acevedo Vélez (d. 1984).

The symbols of the school are prescribed in Article 7 of the Manual de Convivencia, dated 2018

The flag is 1.5 m x 2 m, divided into three horizontal stripes of 0.50 m each, vermilion red-white-black.
Red represents the glorious infantry and its skills, force, victory, daring and ardor.
White represents purity, integrity, obedience, firmness and vigilance, that is every good soldier's skills.
Black represents steel, war, honesty, discipline and the force of will.

The shield is of Swiss shape, recalling the country of the infantry instructors. It features on a plain white field a lion rampant gules holding a sword argent pointing upwards.
The white field means the cadets' purity of mind and body.
Gules represents the glorious infantry and its skills, force, victory, daring and ardor.
The lion and sword mean force, vigilance, authority, rule, majesty and bravery. The sword means justice, obedience and submission to the government power in charge of defense and education.

Instituto Militar Aquileo Parra

Instituto Militar Aquileo Parra was established on 22 February 1974 in Bogotá by General Landazabal Reyes and Dr. Dimas Rincón Parra. The school was approved by Resolution No. 9,130 issued on 5 June 1979 by the Ministry of National Education and Resolution No. 1,584 approved on 21 April 1977 by the Ministry of National Defense.
The school is named for Aquileo Parra (1825-1900), 13th President of the United States of Colombia (1876-1878).
